TOUR DESCRIPTION

After departing from Durban, the tour heads to the Valley of 1000 Hills, which is home to the Reptile Park and PheZulu Cultural Village.

After leaving Durban, the tour travels inland to the "Valley of 1000 Hills," where participants can visit PheZulu Cultural Village and Reptile Park to learn about traditional Zulu culture. To witness traditional Zulu life before the modern period, visitors are transported to a traditional Zulu homestead. The cattle are positioned in the center of a traditional Zulu homestead's circle of thatched huts as a kind of security. The auditorium of PheZulu's "Sibaya," or farmhouse, is surrounded by thatched huts and looks out over the picturesque "Valley of 1000 Hills."In order to give you an understanding of 1800s Zulu customs, the local PheZulu guide will lead you on a guided tour of the PheZulu sibaya and explain Zulu cultural practices. With beautiful traditional Zulu songs being sung and vigorous dance displayed, the local Zulu dancing event is both educational and enjoyable. With pride and rhythmic agility, the performers flaunt their singing and dancing abilities while dressed in traditional Zulu clothing.

A native PheZulu Reptile park guide gives guests a guided tour of the Reptile Park, which is part of PheZulu. The park's local guides are well informed and happy to show you around and provide fascinating information on the park's animals. There is a wide variety of reptile species at PheZulu Reptile Park, including crocodiles, alligators, snakes, tortoises, spiders, and iguanas. Just long enough for you to snap a picture, the native PheZulu guide will allow you to handle or touch some of the animals, such as the enormous Burmese python and the tiny crocodile.
